Director of Development & Strategic Support

Salary: £44,374 to £47,276 per annum

Hours: Full-Time or Part-time (minimum 21 hours per week)

Citizens Advice Southwark has a strong record of developing new services and in securing funding to grow its reach. We recognise that if we’re to be able to carrying on supporting our community to sort out problems together, for good, we need to invest in our ability to continue to sustain and grow our services so that we’re here when people need us.  We’re keen to continue to innovate, grow and build on the trust we have from local people, and are looking for a dynamic Director of Development & Strategic Support help us to achieve our ambitions.

The role includes:

  • Overseeing the development and successful implementation of the organisation’s funding strategy so that the charity has the resources it needs to deliver effective services that meet local need
  • Leading on marketing and communications so that the organisation builds on its strong reputation and visible brand and continues to be recognised as a key part of the community infrastructure of Southwark
  • Developing relationships, partnerships and networks that enable the organisation to deliver its vision with and through local communities and other stakeholders
  • Being an inspiring and effective manager of the people in your team, ensuring that the projects you are responsible for exceed expectations

To be successful you will need to have:

  • Proven track record in securing contracts and grant funding across all sectors.
  • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for development.
  • Experience of developing and managing effective relationships with funders, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Project management including monitoring progress against objectives and experience of working within an evaluation framework.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to improve the quality and impact of our services.
  • Ability to create a positive working environment in which equality and diversity are well managed, dignity at work is upheld and staff are empowered and motivated to do their best
