Job Details
We’re looking to recruit a talented programmes and partnerships advisor to join The Co-op Foundation, which is the Co-op’s charity. We help young people across the UK make a positive contribution to society, and support disadvantaged communities to overcome social, economic and environmental challenges. If you can bring us energy, drive and a genuine passion for our Co-op values and purpose, we can offer you the chance to develop your skills and build a career with a business that puts people and communities at the heart of its strategy.
As a programmes and partnerships advisor you’ll make sure the Co-op Foundation’s strategy is translated into high-quality programmes on the ground. Focusing mainly on youth and community projects, we’ll look to you to develop strong partnerships with external organisations as well as a wide range of Co-op colleagues and members.
What you’ll do
- contribute to the development of a range of capacity building and support activities for community organisations, making the most of our partners’ skills
- develop operational plans for youth and community programmes in line with strategic aims
- coordinate the delivery of programmes as the main contact for operational activities
- liaise with external charity and social enterprise partners
- manage application processes for charities seeking support, and work with successful applicants to evaluate impact
- monitor and analyse external developments in the Foundation’s fields of interest
- contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures
- build collaborative relationships with key internal and external partners
This role will suit people who have
- an understanding of charities and the third sector (particularly volunteer management, grant-making, evaluation and communications)
- previously been involved in the delivery of volunteering programmes, youth or community development work (ideally at strategic level)
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple and varied priorities
- the ability to influence and build strong relationships with internal and external partners
- a passion for youth and community development in line with our Co-op values
- a willingness to learn and a passion for continuous professional development
- the ability to understand and communicate complex information
- the ability to continually refine and improve our approach and delivery
Why Co-op?
Here you’ll do work that matters. We’re a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes:
- competitive salary
- coaching, training and support to help you develop
- pension with up to 10% employer contributions
- annual incentive scheme
- 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
- discounts on Co-op products and services
Building an inclusive work environment
We’re actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We aim to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the communities they serve.
Company
Co-op has community in its DNA, flowing right back to the Rochdale Pioneers who were responsible for the ‘Co-operative Movement’, and it operates at the heart of communities across the UK. Being part of such a proud history and transforming it into an exciting future is both a huge pleasure and an important responsibility.
