A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Extra Care Scheme Manager to join their brand new Extra Care Scheme Elmswood Park opening in Spring 2020 in Whalley Range, Manchester.

As the Extra Care Scheme Manager, you will help support the development of the services, providing improvement so the service users can live as safely and independently as possible. You will be responsible for managing the service and ensuring the residents always receive the best service. You will also be pivotal in promoting the core values of the organisation.

 Who are they looking for? 

To be successful in this role, you will be a strong and passionate individual who has the leadership skills to deliver excellence. You will have a genuine interest in what they do as an organisation and have demonstrable experience in an extra care setting with excellent care standards, CQC and compliance knowledge. You will carry out a range of Scheme functions, including the assessment and review of individual services and the practical supervision, instruction and support of in-house staff and external providers. To help them deliver an excellent service you must have a proven track record in the following:

  • Providing an effective housing management service
  • Extensive knowledge of support services in an extra care setting
  • Working effectively in partnership with other agencies
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ideally they would like the successful candidate to start on the 2nd September 2019.

What will you be doing?

Initially you will be leading on allocating the new scheme through promotion, marketing and working with partner agencies. You will bring an understanding of the operational and services delivered in an extra care service. You will oversee the delivery of housing management and support services including catering, cleaning and maintenance; working to achieve quality services where residents are given the best opportunity to maintain a good quality of life, health and wellbeing. The site team consists of an in-house Scheme Officer, Maintenance Officers, Cleaners as well as an external Care and Support team and Catering Team.

Your ongoing responsibilities will be to ensure residents are provided with a true support service putting their wellbeing at the forefront of what we do. You will be responsible for ensuring an efficient housing management service from allocating your extra care properties via marketing and promotion to ensuring the right external support services are in place for their residents.
