Job Details
The Communications and Resources Officer is a central role in the Baby Friendly Initiative team at Unicef UK.
The Baby Friendly Initiative is one of three UK programmes at Unicef UK. It is based on a global accreditation programme of Unicef and the World Health Organisation and is designed to support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships by working with public services to improve standards of care. Infant feeding and parent-infant relationships can be emotive subjects, therefore you will have an important role in ensuring this information is communicated, both sensitively and accurately.
As Communications and Resources Officer, you will oversee production of all written material and manage the digital presence and resources, including creating and editing content for the website. You will produce regular mailings to our supporters and handle a range of external and internal communications, in order to meet the programme’s needs.
To succeed, you will have excellent communication and project management skills. We’re looking for strong writing and editing abilities, with experience of producing materials and ensuring key messages are delivered effectively. You will also have experience of using design packages such as InDesign and managing a website.
Company
UNICEF UK raises funds for UNICEF’s emergency and development work for children. We promote and protect children’s rights in the UK and internationally. We are a UK charity, entirely funded by supporters.
UNICEF ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done. And we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.
