Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £25,000 per annum

Closing Date: 10 July 2019, 23:55

About the role:

It’s creating sustainable infrastructures for the oldest castle in the world.

It’s the variety of challenges you’ll face. And it’s the pride in joining a team at the heart of a world famous institution.

The size and complexity of the castle and its surrounding estate will present you with some truly fascinating challenges.

Joining their professional and expert in-house team, you’ll provide an efficient and effective mechanical maintenance service across the estate.

You’ll carry out a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance. Checking machinery, locating faults and regularly servicing their systems.

You'll carry out mechanical repairs and minor installations, as well as supervising contractors on site, and you’ll ensure faultless accuracy and compliance is achieved in all that you do.

Whether you’re preparing for a function or responding to a call out, you’ll be challenged to provide exceptional customer service to a range of people.

But maintenance is only half the story. With every new project, you'll help modernise their systems and find new ways to be more efficient for the future.

And every day, you'll work as part of the team who, together, deliver results that are vital to the continued running of their historic and world famous buildings.

About you:

You’ll have previous mechanical experience, ideally in building maintenance and minor refurbishment. Along with relevant mechanical engineering qualifications and recognised training, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running.

Experience working in Listed Buildings would also be an advantage but is not essential.

It’s important that you’re a logical and innovative problem solver, able to understand key mechanical issues and investigate solutions.

Organised, with a logical and methodical approach to work, you're able to manage a busy workload and deliver results, even when the pressure is on.

Knowledge of CAFM and helpdesk systems is also desired, as is a basic working knowledge of the Microsoft Office.

What's more, you’re a great communicator and team player, able to build positive relationships with colleagues and external contractors alike.

And with your 'can do' attitude, you'll work collaboratively with colleagues across functional and geographical boundaries to deliver exceptional customer service.

As you'll be working across a number of locations, a full UK driving licence is essential.

Above all, you take care and pride in your work. With a flexible, you'll pro-actively get involved and enjoy the varied, unusual workload that listed buildings entail.

You may have experience of the following: Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.
