Southdown, with an annual turnover of £26 million and supporting over 9,000 clients each year, is the leading provider of community based support services for vulnerable adults across Sussex. Our vision is that everyone, no matter what their life experience, background or challenges will have the opportunity to lead their life to the full.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking and inspirational senior leader to join our Executive Team and oversee the continued development of our Community Support Services. This Division oversees our homeless prevention, housing support, mental health recovery, supported employment and social prescribing, health and wellbeing support services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide vision, leadership and direction to the division, through effective partnership working with staff, clients and a wide range of external stakeholders.
  • Operational management and strategic development of the Community Support Services Division, setting standards for the delivery of personalised services in line with the vision and values of the Association and best practice.
  • Lead and co-ordinate project management scoping and delivery, including system improvements, quality monitoring systems, client involvement and added value activities.
  • Be involved actively in networking with statutory and voluntary organisations in order to market the Association’s services and ensure their relevance to users and purchasers.

As part of the Executive Team, a key part of the role is to actively collaborate with other Directors, the Chief Executive and Board to assist with the wider corporate management and leadership of Southdown, including helping set the strategy for all business activity areas and overseeing financial sustainability, contracts, performance, risk and service and system developments.

You will be joining Southdown and the Community Support Services Division at an exciting time, with our recently having been awarded a significant new contract to act as the Lead Provider for the transformation of community based mental health services across Brighton and Hove.

If you would like an informal discussion with the Chief Executive, please contact Sara Hobden on 01273 405816 to arrange.
