Location: King’s Cross, London
Hours 37.5 hours per week, full time
Contract type: Fixed term contract
Salary: Circa £38,000 per annum (Inc. London Allowance)

About the role
The Database Development Manager is an exciting opportunity to redevelop some of the data structures we use in our supporter database (Raisers’ Edge), with a view to providing a more systematic and versatile data platform. You will also be involved in optimising the efficiency of import and export processes as well as contributing to the long term data strategy for the organisation.

To excel in this role, you will need to have an understanding of relational databases and preferably experience working directly with Raisers’ Edge. You will be able to analyse and manipulate large volumes of data accurately and with confidence, translating existing information into new structures you have designed in partnership with the Head of Engagement Operations and relevant supporter facing stakeholders.

You will be required to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to meet tight deadlines. The ability to translate technical information for a non-technical audience is a prerequisite in order to build a successful working relationship with other teams and database users across the organisation.

About you
This job is perfect for someone with significant experience working with marketing databases, who has confidence they could improve the schema used; this is your opportunity to show how well you would do it!

You will be a strong communicator, able to listen to the requirements of our internal customers, identify the common themes and produce schema that deliver on all their core requirements. You will understand that the documentation of and training on new processes and schema is as important as the build itself and enjoy this aspect of the work too. Whilst you will be given support, you will also be expected to be organised, work on your own steam and deliver to deadlines.
