HealthWORKS Newcastle is a well-established registered charity and service delivery organisation based in the West End of Newcastle. Our Patron is Sir Michael Marmot.

We are seeking a forward-thinking and innovative Chief Executive to deliver the strongest possible impact for our communities and residents, focusing on maintaining our current high levels of performance and partnership working whilst also seeking funding to develop further services.

Our purpose is to find new ways of helping people to better health, whatever their age, health problems, ability or background. We work across the city to support people living in areas of high need to make positive lifestyle changes which can improve their health and wellbeing. Our work covers the whole life course from breast feeding support to physical activity classes for older people at risk of falls.  We deliver services and activities from our two centres, The Health Resource Centre in Benwell and the Lemington Centre, where we also offer low cost activities at our community gyms.

We focus on recruiting local people to our service delivery posts and provide training and support so that they develop into skilled peer health advocates, with in-depth local knowledge.

We have 69 employed staff and manage 68 volunteers, with a turnover of around £1.5m.

We work in partnership with a range of other agencies and commissioners of services, in particular Newcastle City Council Public Health, to provide our services.

HealthWORKS Newcastle is an Equal Opportunities employer.

Our website has further information about our work - www.hwn.org.uk.  Please download and read the job description, and complete the application form.

The closing date for completed application forms is 12.00 noon 28 June 2019.  Interviews will be held on 10 July 2019 with a previsit on 9 July 2019.
