Database Support Officer

Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

Dementia Voice is how we work with people affected by dementia to share their experiences and be part of making change happen. We want to involve people affected by dementia in all stages of our work and across our services – from making decisions with our senior leaders, to working with our people locally.

Position: Database Support Officer
Location: Flexible across England, Wales and Northern Ireland
Job type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: £24,866 to £29,981 actual per annum, depending on location

Closing date: 23 June 2019
Interview date: 2 July 2019

About the role:

As part of running the Dementia Voice programme we have a database to record the details of people affected by dementia ensuring we engage them in the most appropriate way and match their interests and experiences to our Dementia Voice activities. The Dementia Voice database will provide all staff with a method for connecting and involving a community of people.

This role will help us keep the data accurate, provide management reporting, offer colleagues support in using the database, and suggesting database and process improvements for the future.

This will enable us to provide evidence to our own colleagues, decision makers, and the wider society that our work continues to be informed and inspired by people affected by dementia.

About you:

Are you passionate about how databases can support business processes? Do you love being responsible for turning data into information to gives colleagues the evidence they need to know how well activities are performing and knowing where improvements can be made?

You are someone with a broad set of experiences to cover a range of data management activities critical for the successful use of a database. Technical challenges do not deter you, yet you know how to explain issues to others without jargon. You enjoy working under your own initiative to analyse existing processes and suggest improvements. You also take pleasure in witnessing your daily support tasks contribute to a programme which enables people affected by dementia to transform our thinking.

Our employees work hard every day to make a true difference in people's lives. We are proud to support them with a range of benefits, recognition and many options for working agilely. All contributing to a strong work life balance. We also have various learning programmes to support you in your development and help you grow to realise your potential and shape a career with Alzheimer's Society.

Alzheimer’s Society embraces diversity, inclusion and accessibility for all of our people. We are committed to building a diverse organisation that represents the communities we serve and ensuring inclusion in everything we do.

You may have experience of the following: Database Support Officer, Database Officer, Database Administrator, Database Analyst, Data Analyst, Database Assistant, Database Coordinator, Data Management, Administrator, Charity, Charities, NFP, Not for Profit, Third Sector, etc.
