Our client is a national charity that’s been supporting people with learning disabilities since 1962. They provide a range of services including Supported Living, residential, and short breaks, and they lead the field nationally, in utilising new technology.

They are one of the leading learning disability charities in the country, providing support for over 3,000 people with a learning disability and employing around 3000 staff. Everything they do focuses on enabling the people they support live the best life possible.

Location: Bradford & Yorkshire
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £27,021 per annum

About the role: 

The Supported Volunteering Options Manager role is central to the delivery of high quality services and the development of volunteering outcomes for people who have Learning Disabilities in Bradford and surrounding localities in Yorkshire.

This exciting role involves the management of supporting staff working on volunteering projects alongside people they support both in group or individual volunteering opportunities. Remote management of this team will be part of this role. The successful candidate will need to work flexibly as the role may involve daily travel and some occasional evening and weekend work.

It will be important in this role to promote the best practice across the Yorkshire geographical region and the post holder will have a role in supporting the Area Manager and Divisional Director in influencing the organisations’ volunteering strategy moving forward. The role will also be the operational lead for building links and partnerships with local volunteering networks.

About you: 

The job requires an individual with drive, enthusiasm and commitment. Someone with a ‘can do’ attitude who has the ability to look for creative solutions to meet people’s supported employment needs in a way that respects their individuality.

As the Volunteering Options Manager you will have detailed knowledge and understanding of the barriers faced by people they support in accessing volunteering and the range of models or approaches to address this. You will have experience of leading and managing a team to transform, deliver and measure success of volunteering programmes.

You will have experience of managing stakeholders across a variety of projects with conflicting priorities, be comfortable with budgeting, data analysis and be able to present information using a variety of Microsoft Office applications.
