Established in 1956, our client is the leading nature conservation charity across two counties, working to protect and enhance the wildlife and wild places of Leicestershire and Rutland.

They are seeking a new Chief Executive to shape future strategy and develop their organisation, working to deliver their charitable aims of protecting their wildlife and wild places, and bring people closer to nature.

They want to push forward their plans for public engagement, helping people of all ages and abilities get closer to and be inspired by nature through events, education and volunteering. Their new Chief Executive will spearhead the delivery of this, leading a process of change and growth within the organisation. This is a hugely exciting role that will require inspirational leadership, and imagination and enterprise in planning, implementation and delivery.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership working in a senior management role. Experience within the environmental, voluntary or charitable sectors would be advantageous.  Experience of financial management (budgeting, financial controls and reporting) is a must, as is the ability to foster external relationships through influencing, negotiating and building alliances and partnerships; excellent communication skills; and managing organisational change. Experience of managing charity finances would also be advantageous.

They are seeking someone with a passion for nature conservation and an inspiring and dynamic approach who can build on their solid legacy and play a part in helping to protect and restore wildlife in the heart of England.
