Board Member (Social Housing)

Northallerton, North Yorkshire

£3,916 per annum

Our client works throughout North Yorkshire, an area of high demand. Their location means they have a strong rural focus which makes them different to many housing associations. This rurality combined with high demand brings many interesting opportunities and challenges. As an organisation they are proud of their welcoming culture and being an enjoyable place to work.

They are now looking for a Board Member who will deliver Great Governance at the same time as bringing additional Development and Asset Management skills to the Board. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they want to understand how the whole organisation works and how they will add value as a board member.

As part of the strategic objective to have Great Homes, the company plans to build 1,250 homes over the next five years. As a Board Member you will support the overall governance and bring support and challenge to the executive team. Your development skills and knowledge will be critical to the Board in meeting strategic objectives.

They also have an ambitious programme to increase the energy efficiency of existing homes. This is driven by our strategic objective to enable Great Customer Experience. Customers have told them that affordable warmth represents their number one issue, hardly surprising when 23% of their homes are off gas. You will support this key priority through the additional asset management skills you bring to the Board.

This is an excellent opportunity to help turn their vision and corporate strategy into reality. They are proud of their culture and being an enjoyable place to work so if you wish to join as a Non-Executive Board Member and as a Committee member, apply today.

Our client is an equal opportunities and disability confident employer who welcomes applicants from all sectors of the community. They recognise that as an Organisation they are underrepresented in certain areas on the Board, therefore they encourage applications (though not exclusively) from candidates who are women, and people from minority-ethnic backgrounds (BAME).
