Environmental Advisor (Farming Industry)
Are you passionate about farming and its contribution to the environment? Can you influence government policy makers on matters related to farming and the environment?
They are looking for a talented and dedicated individual with a background in environmental or agricultural policy who can work with (and for) farmers on policy matters related to the sustainable management of waste and resources an issue at the top of the farming, political and environmental agenda.
Position: Advisor (Environmental Policy)
Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire
Job type: Part Time, 12 months Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 21 hours per week Monday & flexibility on other days
Salary: circa of £33,900 per annum (pro rata)
Closing date: 23rd June 2019
Interview date: 12th July 2019
About the role:
To secure the best outcome for members, you will be a proven communicator, influencer and networker who understands and can empathize with those in the farming industry.
You will be able to prepare responses to policy and legislative proposals as though it were second nature. Your keen eye for detail and ability to take complex issues and turn them into policy success will set you apart from others.
To achieve this, you will represent our client in discussions and negotiations and take responsibility for briefing their policy team, our client’s Environment Forum and Officeholders.
About you:
A degree in Environmental Science or a related subject would be desirable, as is having the understanding of the farming industry and the associated environmental agendas at national and EU levels.
You will have a proven track record of being able to build strong internal relationships with both colleagues and external stakeholders and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. An ability to provide relevant and accurate information within set timeframes is critical to this role. An imaginative problem solver and team player, you will have the ability and enthusiasm to manage a diverse and challenging workload whilst remaining calm and organised under pressure.
