Harris Hill is delighted to be assisting one of the most prestigious cultural-heritage organisations in the world in the search for a new Head of Development.

With a team of four and reporting to the Director of Communications and Business Development, the successful applicant will have overall responsibility for the Development team within the organisation.

You will help the organisation meet its charitable objectives by securing new sources of funding in support of the priorities set out in their Five-Year Plan. Working to agreed targets, you will be required to secure philanthropic gifts from a range of sources for three main areas of the organisation's activities - learning programmes, publishing (print and digital) and internships.

You will act as an ambassador for the organisation, representing them to philanthropic bodies and individuals around the world. You will help them develop their supporter network and will be responsible for a programme of development events.

They are looking for an individual who has a genuine passion for the arts, is dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic, with the understanding of how to approach potential donors with the upmost discretion and sensitivity.

You will need to have considerable experience of fundraising from a range of sources within the arts and demonstrable experience of managing, motivating and developing a team. You will have a track record of creating and implementing a fundraising strategy and a thorough understanding of fundraising regulations.
