Description

Fitting into a bustling Communications team, the Digital Communications Manager helps engage nearly 2,500 staff, 750,000 patients, as well as national media and other NHS organisations. Key responsibilities involved:

  • ensure every page of content is reviewed and improved, updated or replaced
  • benchmark plans against the websites of peer organisations in and outside the NHS and the UK
  • support the implementation of any new site, ensuring there is a smooth transition from the old website/intranet to the new
  • monitor traffic to the website using analytic tools and produce regular reports for the communications team and other colleagues on statistics and key performance indicators; contribute to quarterly reports to the management executive
  • with the digital officer, operate the content management system for the website, keeping the site updated and ensuring the website accurately reflects the services offered by the whole network
  • lead a project to devolve some limited operating capabilities to the various clinical and
  • exploit all appropriate social media platforms to promote their expertise and bring it as close to patients, supporters, other stakeholders and the general public as possible
  • help ensure that communications plans use many of the opportunities that social media provides to engage patients, supporters, other stakeholders and the general public in helping the trust shape its plans
  • create a content strategy for social media to support further promotion of the brand and values and spread messaging
  • support the implementation of the new intranet, ensuring a smooth transition from the old intranet to the new, operating both alongside each other for a period if necessary and ensuring that the site displays best practice in all respects, particularly access guidelines
  • With the digital officer, research, cost and recommend digital platforms for routine communications, eg staff e-bulletin, supporters and members' newsletters, to improve two-way communication with key stakeholder groups and provide analytics to support effective evaluation
  • Line manage the digital officer, ensuring all output is consistent with the brand, ensuring their work is consistent with the trust's values and further develop the trust's digital offering

Profile

To be happy and successful as the Digital Communications Manager, ideally you'll have experience of:

  • Managing direct reports

  • Proven writing and editing of a high standard
  • Maintaining effective relationships with organisational leadership
  • Research and evaluation methods and techniques

  • Specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and experience of communications, media, PR and marketing processes and techniques

Job Offer

The successful candidate will secure a 12 month Fixed Term Contract, earning up to £45,000.
