The Jubilee Sailing Trust (JST) seeks to appoint an outstanding individual as their new Associate Director, Community & Partnerships. 

The JST has a unique mission to give people of mixed abilities and circumstances the freedom to explore their ability, potential and place in the world through inclusive adventures at sea. The Trust delivers its mission with two purpose-built tall ships called Lord Nelson and Tenacious. They are uniquely designed to be sailed by mixed ability crews, including people with a wide variety of physical impairments, intellectual disabilities and health conditions. 

For 40 years the JST has been a pioneering organisation that provides transformative, life-affirming adventures to people who face significant challenges in life. It strives to break down barriers between different communities, building respect, empathy and understanding across social divides. Its vision is of an inclusive world where all can contribute and feel valued.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Associate Director, Community & Partnerships will play a critical role in delivering the JST’s partnership strategy. Joining a committed and collaborative Senior Leadership Team, the post-holder will cultivate, solicit and steward partner relationships in support of crucial JST priorities around mission implementation, voyage crew recruitment and fundraising. S/he will also have personal responsibility for some of the JST’s larger strategic partnerships, along with managing a Community & Partnerships Team consisting of five individuals.

The successful candidate will need to be an entrepreneurial self-starter, who is comfortable taking on a strategic role whilst also being hands-on and self-sufficient. You will need to be confident, courageous and resilient, seeing routine challenges as a catalyst for fresh thinking and innovation.

The charity’s operational base is in Southampton but this role can be based anywhere nationally - there are hubs in London and the North West, or the post could be home-based.
