Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. Over the past 45 years, Women’s Aid has been at the forefront of shaping and coordinating responses to domestic violence and abuse through practice, research and policy. Women’s Aid is a federation of almost 180 organisations who provide more than 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country. We empower survivors by keeping their voices at the heart of our work, working with and for women and children by listening to them and responding to their needs.

We are seeking a Chief Executive to provide strong, strategic leadership and a powerful voice for our members through our next stage of growth. Inspired by our feminist values and ethos, our new Chief Executive will ensure Women’s Aid is in the best possible position to support our members and their voice as they work tirelessly to support survivors of domestic abuse. This will include ensuring the organisation has a robust and effective infrastructure that maximises our membership support, enables staff to be as effective as possible and comprehensively manages our finances. Building on our effective and influential campaigns and policy successes, the Chief Executive will also develop strong relationships with our stakeholders, including government, parliamentarians and the media, to ensure the best outcomes for our members and survivors of domestic abuse.

We are seeking a values driven and inspirational senior leader who will be proud to represent our members. With a proven track record of developing organisations and their infrastructures through periods of growth, you will have demonstrable and robust experience in governance and change management. You will enjoy working closely with teams and Boards to develop solid structures that maximise outcomes and ensure long-term sustainability. You will also be a credible ambassador, used to building influential relationships with senior stakeholders that increase profile and secure beneficial outcomes. Crucially, you will uphold our key values and those of feminism and work against intersectional discrimination, placing the survivor at the heart of all our work.
