Prospectus is delighted to be supporting a leading youth charity in London to recruit a Director of Finance and Resources. Their mission is to improve the lives of all young people in London with a particular focus on those who wouldn't otherwise have access to the kind of opportunities they offer. The Role

The Director of Finance and Resources will play a vital role in strengthening and building their capability to support even more young people; work with more member organisations and build on their very solid foundations to keep the charity strong financially in the future. The Director will ensure the charity continues to develop great people and have robust systems which can help sustain their excellent portfolio of programmes and member support.

 

The main purpose of the role is to lead on the finance, people, ICT (information and communication technologies), data management, and governance functions and ensure the operations are fit-for-purpose and supporting the achievement of the charity's priorities and objectives. It will also oversee the facilities and property management, procurement, and provide effective leadership in areas such as legal services, governance and statutory compliance. The Director will ensure the team provides efficiencies with a focus on continuous improvement, problem solving and development.

 

The Person

Experience and skills to ideally include:

- Experience and strong track record of leading a strategic finance function and willing to also be hands on

- Experience of developing operational plans and budgets and supporting staff to deliver to financial targets

- Experience of charity finance, including managing restricted and unrestricted funds

- Experience of leading HR to develop staff and create a positive organisational culture

- Detailed knowledge of charity law, governance and statement of recommended practice (SORP)

- Strong technical accounting and analytical skills

- Ability to manage ICT and implement strategic projects

- Qualified member of an accountancy body or equivalent qualification

- Values led with a strong interest in improving the lives of young Londoners
