Citizens Advice Telford and the Wrekin (CAT&W) has a significant track record of developing services that support those with complex advice needs and that ‘reach out’ to the most vulnerable and excluded in our community. Last year, we helped nearly 17,000 people with around 27,000 problems from our core delivery site in Wellington and our 6 outreach locations.
Our Help to Claim project delivers support to local claimants of Universal Credit, up to the first payment. It provides welfare benefits, budgeting and help-to-claim information and practical help.
We are looking to recruit a Team Leader for our Help to Claim service with good organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, as well as a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service. Experience of the advice sector would be preferable.

- Basic knowledge of welfare benefits advice, money advice or similar discipline.
- Must be a fully trained advisor with recent experience of giving advice.
- Have good knowledge of Universal Credit and the application process.
- Have at least 1 years’ experience of maintaining a caseload.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment and coordinate the day to day running of a service.
