Head of Finance
Our client is a vibrant community centre in the heart of Tower Hamlets. The Centre is a charity with a national and international reputation for its innovative work in inspiring and empowering the people from the local community, using a unique model of integration. It supports over 2,000 people each month.
Position: Head of Finance
Location: London, E3 3BT (within walking distance of our clients tube station)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 per annum
Benefits: 27 days plus 3 days for Christmas and Bank Holidays,1 extra day that all staff get off for their birthday, Pension Contribution made
Closing date: 12th June 2019 at 12 pm
Interviews Week commencing: 17th June 2019
About the role:
The Head of Finance has responsibility for the operational management of our client’s finance function and provides crucial support to the project managers and their teams who are critical in delivering their services. The Head of Finance also assists the Finance Director, Executive Leadership Group and Trustees on the strategic financial management of the organisation to enable the charity to fulfil its vision and mission.
About you:
- Graduate
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Excellent financial accounting skills and detailed knowledge of charity accounting
- At least three years experience working in a senior finance role within the charity sector
- Preparation of Charity Annual Report and Financial Statements and Charity Commission requirements
- Able to produce and interpret management information and make recommendations based on this information
- Strong IT skills and experience, including advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SAGE
- Excellent knowledge of VAT, PAYE, Gift Aid and other relevant tax legislation
- Project reporting to a variety of funders
- Working in a Business Partner role with project managers and / or development team members
- Able to build a good working relationship with the FD with open, proactive and regular communication
You may have experience of the following: Head of Finance, Senior Finance Manager, Finance Manager, Qualified Accountant, Corporate Accountant, Senior Accountant, Management Accountant, Charity, Third Sector, NFP, etc.
