About the role:

Gifts in wills have always been a lifeline to the charity. In 2018-19 the charity received over £22m in Legacies - a vital source of income for the hospital, and an income stream that has grown substantially.
We pride ourselves on the stewardship of our supporters. You will use your in-depth knowledge of legacy marketing to create compassionate communications, bringing alive our brand proposition and delivering against the very highest standards of great governance.

The post sits within the Direct Marketing supporter retention team, line managing one member of staff and working collaboratively with the Legacy Administration team and your Direct Marketing colleagues.

About you:

You are someone that prides yourself in delivering an excellent supporter experience, with proven experience of delivering cost effective marketing campaigns.

Specifically, you will have:

- Experience of managing multi-channel charity campaigns within a Direct Marketing or Legacy team.
- Proven line management experience, coaching experience desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, able to craft respectful written communications and to deliver an inspirational presentation.
- Good IT skills, and in particular using CRM platforms.
- Experience of working in partnership with external agencies.

In addition, you will bring working knowledge of the relevant charity legislation and best practice guides.

About the Charity:

Every day brings new challenges. Every day, over 600 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfill their potential. Without donations, we can’t help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Our staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.

Recently awarded with a ‘Best Companies 2-star accreditation' and placed number 17 on the 2019 Sunday Times Best 100 Not-for-Profit Companies list - we offer a range of attractive benefits including: a flexible approach to working, 30 days holiday, life assurance, enhanced employer pension contributions, and a discounted season ticket loan.
