The Royal Osteoporosis Society are looking for a Major Donor Lead to join their team.

Job Title: Major Donor Lead

Salary: c. £29,000 per annum (c. £48,000 full time).  Benefits include a competitive pension and holiday entitlement, life assurance, and an Employee Assistance Programme
Location: Homebased in London, with travel to Head Office in Camerton, near Bath (approx. 1 visit per month).

Job Type: Permanent, part-time 3 days or 22.5 hours per week

Major Donor Lead – The Charity:

The Royal Osteoporosis Society (ROS) wants a future without osteoporosis. We are committed to helping keep the nation’s bones stronger for longer and are the only UK-wide charity dedicated to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. The ROS relies on voluntary income to fund its vital work and the charity’s supporters contribute a significant proportion of this funding.

Major Donor Lead - The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional London based individual with a proven track record in securing income through building strong relationships. The perfect candidate will connect to people, places, passions and philanthropic giving with our cause and in doing so, help our donors to feel good about the difference their generosity makes and a ensure mutually beneficial long-term relationship is secured.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships, the Major Donor Lead will drive and be responsible for evolving our major donor programme. Your activity will seek to cultivate, engage and steward new and existing donors to increase voluntary income to enable the Royal Osteoporosis Society to support even more people with osteoporosis.

Major Donor Lead – About You:

-  An outstanding networker who is articulate, persuasive and credible at engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

- Driven with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

- Demonstrable experience of achieving income against agreed targets

- A good understanding of the Major Donor fundraising market and trends

- Strategic operator who can ensure the success implementation of a major donor strategy which supports the over-arching strategic aims of the charity
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and ability to work well with others at all levels of the organisation
- Substantial experience of relationship building and implementing a successful major donor programme which has led to a significant increase in income; an excellent understanding of the importance of stewardship (formal and intuitive) and its role in successful fundraising

- Ability to multi-task the needs of major donors and manage competing priorities to achieve results

- Strong ability to plan and manage the delivery of high-end special events

- Excellent administrative, organisational and time management and presentation skills

- Good standard of Microsoft platforms and CRM database management

- Understanding of relevant Data Protection requirements and GDPR

- Working style which is flexible, positive and collaborative

- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours

- Enthusiastic, with the ability to work as part of a motivated and committed team

- The post holder should be well presented and understand the importance of looking professional
