Are you an experienced manager with a background in education and professional development?

We are looking for an Education and Professional Development Manager to join our client, a prestigious medical membership body who set and maintain standards for education and training of all doctors working with children's health.


Please be advised this is a fixed-term maternity cover contract for a period of nine months.


Reporting to the Director of Education and Training the overall purpose of this role is to input into the strategy and leadership, managing the overall development and management of the education and professional development portfolio. This will include the online and face to face education courses, careers support and revalidation CPD.The successful candidate will work with clinical leads, project teams and other stakeholders to carry out the programme of work , adopting a project management approach with clear goals, targets and deadlines. You will identify and bid for internal and external funds along with developing a collaborative approach with clinical leads, teaching faculties and relevant staff. You will have the opportunity to lead on business cases for new education and professional development project proposals whilst managing and preparing budgets. In addition you will manage staff within the team including recruitment and selection of new staff members.


To be considered for this role, it is essential to have previous experience as a line manager, with evidence of continuing professional development.Experience in developing quality assurance procedures and systems is required as well as having knowledge of e-learning and web based collaboration platforms. Excellent project management skills including budgeting is essential and you will have some experience relating to medical education, or education in a healthcare setting. This role is ideally suited to someone with exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and problem solving skills demonstrating the ability to understand complex issues around child health. Educated at graduate or masters level is required for this role.
