Position: Economist - Head of Policy Analysis 
Location: Croydon, London, CR0 2AQ 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: up to 36 hours per week FT (min 30 PT), Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time 
Salary: £56,133 to £62,855 per annum

About the role: 

Are you an experienced Economist? Would you relish the opportunity to embed an expert policy analysis and evaluation function within a high-performing government organisation? If so, and you thrive in a busy environment working with a great team of committed colleagues, they are looking for a Head of Policy Analysis who will set the direction for the development of appraisal methods and valuation of economic, environmental and social impacts of land registration policy. 

You will ensure our client has a robust evidence base in place to support their business strategy and transformation plans and contribution to key government policies including industrial, housing and geospatial strategies. 

You will have the opportunity to apply analytical and economic appraisal methodologies in new and exciting areas, in a leadership role with senior responsibilities. You will focus on developing the evidence base so that the impacts on economy, people, society and the environment are appropriately and thoroughly examined when deciding on the priorities of policies. You will provide analytical rigour to our clients development of regulatory impact assessments and transformation business cases including for their digital programme, approach to open data, roll-out of a new local land charges service and commitment to fee restructuring. You will lead the development of the economic cases surrounding strategic policy options for achieving comprehensive registration. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will have a degree level qualification in Economics or a relevant subject or relevant experience. You will also have proven provision of expert economist and analytical techniques in policy development as well as knowledge and application of economic appraisal techniques in business case development. 

Additionally, you will have a proven track record of internal and external stakeholder relationship building with senior staff, with the ability to use contacts and networks to keep up to date on developments. The ability to present at senior level is also essential. 

You may have experience of the following: Economist, Head of Policy Analyst, Policy Manager, Policy Analyst, Head of Policy, Financial Analyst, Finance Manager, Charity, Third Sector, NFP, etc.
