We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Senior Media Officer to help raise the profile of World Horse Welfare, the leading international horse charity. This post may offer opportunities for career advancement for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Director of Communications and Public Affairs, the role requires that you have journalistic experience or training along with excellent writing and interpersonal skills. You will have a good nose for a story, be able to write copy to tight deadlines and use your creativity to spot opportunities to promote the charity. As the daily line manager of the Social & Digital Media Officer, the successful applicant will have line management/supervisory experience and equine knowledge.  You will be a self-starter with an understanding of print, broadcast and online media. Contacts within the national and/or equine press are desirable but not essential.

Working within a communications and public affairs team of 8 you will be responsible for proactively developing and implementing strategies that not only promote our good work in the media but engage celebrities, particularly in the UK but also internationally. This includes identifying and building relationships with the relevant journalists, editors and celebrities, writing and distributing press releases, helping to develop media campaigns and seeking other opportunities to promote the charity.

This is a truly fantastic opportunity to make a mark in your career and a real difference to horses worldwide.
