The Bobath Centre is a specialist treatment and training centre, dedicated to supporting babies, children and adults living with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions.

Our team of physio, occupational and speech & language therapists focus almost exclusively on cerebral palsy and so have a comprehensive understanding of the condition, in all its complex and various forms.

As the UK's premier teaching centre, we have contributed to the training of NHS and other health professionals. This has allowed thousands of people who are unable to travel to the Centre to benefit from the Bobath approach in their local community.

We provide different treatment packages to meet the individual’s needs. This can be regular and gradual if they live nearby to in-depth and intensive therapy for those who can only visit occasionally. 

Sometimes, it’s the simple things that make a difference - playing with friends, dressing or making your own lunch. So, whatever the child's age or associated difficulties, we have the skills and knowledge to help them participate in daily life to the full.

Established in 1968, with a relatively new Board in place and a positive ambition for the future, the past few years have proved challenging financially, with difficulties in retaining existing audiences and identifying new funding opportunities. As an organisation we have taken all the tough decisions that needed to be taken to bolster reserves and provide funds for future investment.

As our new CEO, you will need to demonstrate a passion for supporting people with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions. You will have the ability to develop our funding and support networks, represent the Bobath Centre externally to ensure broader recognition, increase the flow of funding and work to build our internal capabilities as we continue to grow and evolve, effectively leveraging the Board and our supporter network. We are also looking to build new partnerships to broaden our links and reputation.

You will be ambitious and entrepreneurial, with energy and vision. You will have the ability to communicate the work, success and ambition of the Bobath Centre, be able to engage as naturally with high-profile supporters as with the charity’s beneficiaries and be able to manage and motivate people effectively.
