Can you influence government policy makers on matters related to farming and the environment?

We are looking for a talented and dedicated individual with a background in environmental or agricultural policy who can work with (and for) farmers on policy matters related to clean air and clean water, two issues at the top of the farming, political and environmental agenda.

Position: Adviser (Environment)
Location: Stoneleigh, Warwickshire
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: circa of £33,913 per annum

Closing date: 9th June 2019

About the role:

To secure the best outcome for NFU members, you will be a proven communicator, influencer and networker who understands and can empathise with those in the farming industry.

You will be able to prepare the responses to policy and legislative proposals as though it were second nature. Your keen eye for detail and ability to take complex issues and turn them into policy success will set you apart from others.

To achieve this, you will represent the organisation in discussions and negotiations and take responsibility for briefing our policy team, the organisation’s Environment Forum and Officeholders.

About you:

You will have a proven track record of being able to build strong internal relationships with both colleagues and external stakeholders and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. An ability to provide relevant and accurate information within set timeframes is critical to this role. An imaginative problem solver and team player, you will have the ability and enthusiasm to manage a diverse and challenging workload whilst remaining calm and organised under pressure.
