In return, we offer a unique insight into the governance and dynamics of a successful and well run organisation, an experienced Board member as your mentor, a priority interview in the event of a Board Member vacancy arising, and be paid for your time.

Ideally you will have recently completed higher or further education studies, you’ll need some knowledge and a lot of passion for our business; social housing and/or adult social care and be willing to contribute and provide challenge at fast paced board meetings. Our organisation is so diverse; this role could suit someone with an interest or background in; Social Policy, Social Work, Health and Social Care, Housing, Accountancy, Business Studies, Law, Architecture or Construction. The important thing is to demonstrate how you could make a difference to NCHA and contribute to our vision of ‘More homes, great services, better lives’.

We provide over 943,000 hours of help to vulnerable people through our extensive provision of housing with care and support services including learning disabilities, mental health, domestic abuse, older people and young adults. NCHA has a turnover in excess of £80m and employs over 1,100 staff.

The Association is governed by a Board of Management who are collectively responsible for ensuring the success of NCHA by directing the Association’s affairs and determining its strategic aims. We are looking to supplement the Board with someone who will observe and contribute a fresh perspective to our organisation.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates who are currently under represented on our Board – those under 40 years of age, from BME backgrounds or who are disabled.
