Their Board consists of 3 residents, 3 councillors, 3 independents and the Chief Executive. The Independent Board Members play a vital role on the Board ensuring that decisions are in the best interests of the organisation and its customers, whilst ensuring compliance of all legal and regulatory obligations.
They are on an exciting journey and are a year into delivering their new strategic plan. They have ambitious plans to grow and transform their services, with a strong commitment to ensuring first-class services for their customers.
Their aim is to deliver great services that make a difference, by being the trusted choice for local housing, property and community services. As an organisation, our focus is on customer satisfaction, value for money and positive outcomes in the community. They are looking for a board member who is committed to helping them achieve this.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
· General business, financial and management experience.
· Evidence of delivering quality services with a strong customer care commitment
· Working as an effective member of a strategic team
· Experience at Board level in the public sector/ private/ voluntary sector
· Skills and experience in finance and risk management would be desirable
Successful applicants will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to successfully act as an ambassador for the organisation.

Time commitment - is approx. 1 day per month
Term - For an initial term of 3 years
Remuneration - This is an unpaid position, although reasonable expenses, including mileage and childcare, will be reimbursed and regular training opportunities will be offered throughout the year
