Head of Trusts, Grants & Statutory
Head of Trusts, Grants and Statutory
Nationwide youth & community charity
Highly competitive salary
Our client seeks to appoint an outstanding individual as their new Head of Trusts, Grants and Statutory. The post-holder will have the opportunity to help transform the lives of young people living in some of our most deprived communities who are most at risk of being excluded, becoming disaffected and getting left behind in society.
Our client is a pioneering charity with one simple aim – to build a network of state-of-the-art, 21st century youth facilities to give young people safe and inspiring places to spend time away from home and school. For decades many young people have been neglected and they need our help, now more than ever before. Whether it’s a lack of ambition or qualifications, negative behaviour and attitudes, gang or knife violence, young people need help to find a way out of their predicament. The Youth Zones are designed to give young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to in their leisure time; occupying their bodies and minds with fun activities, learning new skills and socialising in a safe, positive way.
Based in London and reporting to the Director of Fundraising, this leadership role is an exciting opportunity to develop a holistic Trusts, Grants and Statutory programme for the charity. The post-holder will have responsibility for managing a growing team and working with them to research, identify, build and maintain relationships with appropriate funding sources (some of which could be outside the norm). The ability and experience to create an exciting vision to attract a wide variety of donors is essential.
The charity is entrepreneurial by nature, with pace, innovation and resilience in its DNA. The role is all-encompassing, high profile and responsible for securing substantial income. It is both a hands-on ‘doing’ role as it is a strategic management role. Our client is looking for someone who has the ability to provide strategic direction and land substantive sized gifts. Innovative thinking and an entrepreneurial approach to Trusts and Grants fundraising is key.
The successful candidate will have experience of creating compelling cases of support for high-value bids to trusts and foundations and other grant-making organisations. S/he will be financially astute with an aptitude for maintaining a clear overview of complex data. Strong and persuasive communication skills and the presence, gravitas and intellect to operate effectively at all levels are a pre-requisite.
No one in the country is doing what this charity is seeking to do, at the scale and pace that they wish to deliver. If you want to play a pivotal part in making dramatic, positive change for young people for an organisation with aspiration, focus and ambition, then this unique, career-defining opportunity is for you.
