Family Support Worker 

Our client is a National charity which support people affected by imprisonment. They work in prisons and communities across England and Wales to provide practical support to prisoners' children and families, and to prisoners themselves. 

Position: Family Support Worker 
Location: Gloucestershire (Commutable from Bristol, Stroud, Yate, Chepstow & surrounding areas) 
Job type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 24 hours per week (including weekend work) 
Salary: £11,232 per annum (FTE £17,550)

About the role: 

As a Family Support Worker, you will ensure the delivery and continued development of consistent high quality, cost-effective and responsive Family support services. Those of which are grounded within our client's charitable mission, vision and values alongside NOMS / HM Prison Service rules and regulations. 

You will be responsible for delivering a front line family support service to prisoners serving sentences at HMP Leyhill along with their families affected by imprisonment. The service will ensure prisoners, their children, carers and relatives have access to appropriate advice, guidance, learning opportunities and support to better enable them to maintain positive relationships with their families and decrease the chance of intergenerational crime. 

You will also carry out case and group work and assist with data collection. 

About you: 

You will have demonstrable experience of delivering front line play and family support services. You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate sensitively to the needs of prisoners and their families. 

You will also have demonstrable experience of working with families in a multi-agency environment.
