Job Details

CEASE (the Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation) is a new national charity devoted to educating the public, influencers and decision makers on effective approaches to combat sexual exploitation in the UK. We’re looking for a brilliant, experienced CEO to manage all aspects of our strategy and operation.

As CEASE UK is currently at its formative stage, this is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to be genuinely creative and entrepreneurial. As well as working alongside existing charities and organisations, we’ll also be breaking to break new ground in exposing the links between different forms of sexual exploitation and addressing the underlying drivers: the influence of pornography and the global sex trade.

If you are ambitious, pioneering and big-thinking, you could help shape our fledgling charity into a powerful, culture-shaping force with a far-reaching influence ultimately affecting both public attitudes and public policy. Through a foundation of solid evidence and expertise, we want to become respected as the national go-to authority on the issue of sexual exploitation.

With a specific track-record in the areas of strategic planning and organisational development, we’re looking for an all-rounder and visionary who can drive excellence in strategic planning, governance, fundraising, financial management and HR. This role is perfect for those who thrive on working collaboratively, who have experience in making cross-sector partnerships and will happily work with diverse individuals, charities and organisations, from radical feminist and religious-based groups to politicians, academics and survivors.

The ideal candidate shall come with proven senior administrative, leadership and management ability, ideally honed within the charitable sectors since the role involves responsibility for the overall operations of the charity, ensuring every aspect is compliant to our legal requirements as a registered charity. Familiarity and understanding of charity law and governance is essential, as is fundraising skill and experience.

The role affords the amenity of flexible working hours, with offices based in Newport, South Wales. There will be some travelling involved, particularly to London.

If you feel that you meet our requirements and are the right person for the role, please send a comprehensive CV and a supporting A4 document of no more than 2 sides.

Company

We are a young, vibrant charity- passionate about fighting the epidemic of sexual exploitation that's infecting our society.

Our approach is to take a step back and see the big picture, recognising that different forms of sexual exploitation are intrinsically interconnected, fuelled by the commodification of sex and the sexual objectification of women.

We believe that until we recognise the devastating, far-reaching harms of pornography on our children and young people, we can't hope to stem the tide of child-on-child sexual violence. Until we recognise prostitution as a form of violence against women, we can't hope to uphold gender equality, and until the media stops portraying women as object, the #metoo movement will come to nothing.

We're all about joining the dots, supporting and promoting the brilliant work of organisations alreadying fighting all forms of sexual exploitation and ensuring that the root causes and driving influences are never overlooked.
