Support Worker
Our client is a charity providing a range of services for disabled children, young people and adults. One of their services is a six bed residential home providing short breaks for disabled young people up to the age of 18.
Position: Support Worker
Location: Chertsey, Surrey
Hours: 30 hours per week on an annualised hours contract, include early / late shifts and alternate weekends
Salary: £9.72 per hour
Closing date: 31st May 2019
Interviews: week commencing 10th June 2019
About the role:
As a Support Worker you will listen to children’s and young people’s wishes and choices and action where possible and will plan and run appropriate activities that meets the needs of all the children and young people.
You will help and support the children and young people in all aspects of personal care, respecting their dignity at all times. You will also enable children and young people to meet their individual outcomes. You will be a keyworker for families and update the keychild’s paperwork as required. The position requires moving and handling and medical procedures such as gastro feeding
About you:
The successful candidate needs to hold or work towards a level 3 qualification. This position may include key working duties therefore the successful applicant must be IT literate and confident using Microsoft Word.
A car driver would also be desirable. The successful applicant must attend mandatory training courses and Induction Standards training.

The successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check at enhanced level, two references and an Occupational Health check. After a 6 months probationary period you will be entitled to six weeks annual leave equivalent and pension benefits after 3 months.
You may have experience of the following: Support Worker, Care Worker, Care Assistant, Healthcare Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Care Staff, Charity, Third Sector, NFP, etc.
