About the charity 
Founded in 1978 by Professor Lord Robert Winston and based at Imperial College London, is the largest collaboration of reproductive health researchers in the UK.  It is the only charity of its kind that is consistently at the heart of original leading-edge scientific research investigating problems with conception, pregnancy and birth, and cancers that affect women; delivering real evidence-based results for medical treatments and outcomes of worldwide significance.

The Role 
They are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to work closely with the CEO at an exciting time of rapid growth and development.  The post holder will be the sole Financial Manager of the charity, helping to develop the charity's financial foundations as they enter a phase of exciting growth in which they will double in size over three years. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and reporting on all financial matters, reporting directly to the Board and Finance Committee at quarterly meetings.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of Financial Reports for the CEO, Trustees, Charity Commission and Companies House.
  • Administering income and expenditure on all events, donations and other income lines.
  • Preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and presenting information to non-finance people.
  • Ensuring key reporting commitments to donors and statutory bodies are met.
  • Arranging and attending Finance Committee, Trustee and Scientific Committee meetings as required.
  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders including Imperial College London.
  • Supporting the CEO in devising growth plans and strategies.

The successful candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification with experience of charity accounting. It will be necessary to have experience of preparing management accounts, budget preparation and monitoring, and a good knowledge of preparing and reviewing cash flow forecasting.  Furthermore, it will be necessary to have excellent interpersonal skills, building internal and external relationships with key stakeholders with the ability to persuade others in a change management environment.
