The Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust provides hardship grants to mature students of proven academic merit and in financial need studying in the UK. The Trustees are seeking a part-time administrator to take over responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the Trust. Previous experience, ideally in the charity and/or education sectors, and a good understanding of charity regulations and finance are essential. https://www.stapleytrust.org/
Key Responsibilities:
Administer the grant application and review process
- Provide application packs to prospective applicants
- Receive and review completed grant applications to confirm eligibility
- Obtain references
- Prepare a summary of applications for final review
- Allocate applications to Trustees for review based on given criteria
Finances
- Maintain the accounts
- Make payments authorised by the Trustees, including grants to successful applicants
- Prepare quarterly and annual budgets
- Assist in the preparation and audit of the Annual Report
- Monitor cash balance and arrange for purchase of investment units
General Administration
- Arrange Board of Trustees meetings, prepare agenda, circulate papers in advance and take minutes
- Maintain the database of grant holders in compliance with GDPR
- Prepare the annual newsletter
- Maintain the website and make updates authorised by the Trustees
- Correspond with the Trust’s regular donors
- Support the Trust’s Annual Survey of grant holders
- Represent the Trust at conferences and seminars as required
- Manage the Trust’s social media accounts (Linked-In and Facebook)
- Support fund raising activities
- Communicate any relevant updates or issues to the Trustees when required
This is a home-based role so the successful applicant must be able to work independently. It also requires excellent communication skills and an interest in promoting the aims of the Trust.
While working hours are flexible the administrator is required to support the Trust’s annual funding cycle with January, February and March being the busiest months and less demand in the summer.
