Project Worker / Support Worker Opportunities (Homelessness / Vulnerable Adults)
North London, Haringey
Salary £23,512 - £27,218 P.A
Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Do you have the motivation and skills to work with vulnerable adults and are looking to take the next step in your career? Would you like to join the leading charity in the homelessness sector and play a pivotal role in transforming the lives of people who have or are experiencing homelessness?

If the answer is yes they could have the ideal role for you.
They are currently looking to recruit to a number of Project Worker positions in their Haringey services. They have positions available across The Engaged and Planning service, Substance Misuse and Offenders service (SMO) and the Pilot service.

About the services
The Engaged and Planning service work with clients across a large number of semi-independent accommodation projects. The team work with clients to develop their aspirations towards life goals. This can include getting back to work, training, family relationships, links with the community. Ultimately they help people move on to their own independent accommodation.

The Pilot is a new service designed to fill the gap for people who don’t need 24 hour support, but are not quite ready for semi-independent living. They are developing a structured group work and activity program that will include Arts and Crafts, Benefits sessions, Living Skills, and specialist sessions such as SMART Recovery and a VAWG group.

The Substance Misuse and Offenders service helps people in their recovery from drug, alcohol and offending behaviour. They bring together the expertise of our client, HAGA (alcohol service), and The Grove (substance misuse) in order to provide a holistic service that recognises the varied backgrounds that people have, and helps them reach their true potential, in a Psychologically Informed Environment.

About the role
As a Project Worker, you will work out of one of their accommodation based services, providing high-quality support, care and advice to their residents that focuses on their strengths and goals, and is delivered in a way that suits them.
You will work with clients to help identify their personal aims and ambitions, and assist in developing plans to achieve them. You will also provide advice and guidance on personal development and relevant life skills.

What are they looking for?
To succeed in these highly rewarding roles you will have an excellent understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself. You will have experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change. You will also have a sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears and professional boundary issues.

Above all they are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.

Flexibility is required, as you will be working a shift rota which will include some weekends and public holidays.

What can you expect?
They offer a range of benefits including highly competitive pay, a pension scheme, staff discount schemes and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. Your career development is of paramount importance to them and they will provide you with a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your growth. You will receive a comprehensive induction to connect you with them and your role, and will have access to high quality in-house training covering all aspects of working with their clients along with other core skills. They also offer an internal mentoring scheme, career development workshops and a wide range of additional ‘bite-sized’ and easy access learning opportunities.

Final Closing Date for applications: 10am, Monday 20 May 2019
Interview and assessment dates: from 3 June 2019

Please note it is a requirement for these post that an enhanced DBS disclosure check, will be undertaken for the successful candidates.

Please be advised that all appointments will be made on our clients current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
