Sport, adventure and physical activity is a crucial component in developing RAF personnel into a world-leading fighting force. But for personnel to reach their potential, they must participate in the right environment, the RAF Sports Federation is central to providing that environment.   Working alongside our partners in RAF Sport, we deliver a range of professional services to help ensure those 49 RAF Sports Associations can focus on that core purpose.

Position: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Salary: circa £65,000 + benefits

Since our inception we have driven an ethos of partnerships. Enjoying a close relationship with our RAF colleagues, we are in a position to help take sport in the service to another level. In doing so, we will be arming our personnel to face the unique challenges that living and working in an armed service can bring.

A key priority for RAF Sports Federation will be to measure our impact.  To understand our true impact we are working with our partners to understand the difference we make to sport in the RAF and its personnel. This will also help demonstrate the increasing importance of sport and physical activity in the service and hopefully bring in new funding from a diverse range of sources.

We are in a strong position for a new CEO to lead RAF Sports Federation forward, ensuring we achieve our strategic goals, an important milestone in delivering our vision for the organisation. The CEO will lead work to enable us to support the personnel from the RAF to achieve their ambitions, a fundamental premise of our strategic plan. 

You will need to demonstrate:

• Senior level leadership experience including management in charities and/or not for profit sector
• Significant fundraising/sponsorship and marketing experience
• Ability to build key strategic relationships and stakeholder management experience

It is desirable for you to have proven ability and involvement in sport, or experience of working within the sports sector but essential you have a keen interest.
