Description

The key responsibilities for the Head of Communications include:

  • To develop a strategic external/internal communications strategy
  • To ensure appropriate research and evaluation is undertaken to ensure communications activity is effective and responsive to target audience
  • To direct the delivery of proactive external campaigns and public relations activity
  • To deliver a digital and traditional campaign & engagement strategy

Profile

The Successful Head of Communications:

* Experience working in a council is essential
* Significant experience of developing and implementing successful communication strategies in a high profile complex organisation
* Significant experience of innovation to deliver successful media campaigns both internal and external to the organisation
* Significant leadership and line management experience, with the ability to build and develop strong teams.
* The ability to take both a strategic overview and hands-on approach and the ability to move between strategic and tactical marketing
