Description

As a Communications Manager you will

  • You will lead on media, PR, internal and external communications
  • Manage and expand our social media presence, sourcing and sharing newsworthy information from across the organisation
  • Lead on copy-writing, design and production of marketing materials and key publications including newsletters, annual reviews, reports and publications for external audiences
  • Manage all internal communications across the organisation
  • Develop and implement the organisation's corporate communication and media strategy across the entire spectrum of communications disciplines including political engagement , media and public relations, internal communications, marketing, digital and social media and the production of materials
  • Manage the day to day operation of media relations, internal communications, digital and social media platforms to ensure consistent messaging
  • Lead and manage the Communications Assistant working with them to plan and prioritise their workloads, set objectives, review performance and provide support.

Profile

A proven track record working within a communications role ideally within the public sector/ not for profit

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a communications, PR or marketing environment
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills and the ability to engage politicians
  • Experience of developing and implementing publicity, marketing and communication plans
  • Proven experience of devising and implementing successful PR or marketing campaigns
  • Experience of creating engaging web and social media content
  • Understanding and interest in online communications technologies
  • Awareness of current events relating to the work of the organisation
  • The ability to lead and manage a small team
  • Ideally a professional accreditation of CIM, CIPR or similar and evidence of continuous professional development in a related role
