About the role:

Are you creative and passionate about writing great copy? Do you want to use your exceptional creative writing skills to make a difference to the lives of seriously ill children? Then this is the job for you!

The Brand Editor and Copywriter is a vital role with our client. You will be the 'go-to' for all editorial and copy support. You will champion the brand tone of voice across all communications and train others to write impactful, on-brand copy. With excellent interpersonal skills you will collaborate with individuals across the charity and hospital to create and deliver two magazines. This will include interviewing researchers, patients and their families. You will also use your creativity to shape compelling copy for fundraising campaigns.

About the team:

The Brand Editor and Copywriter sits within the Brand Marketing team which is made up of Brand, Design and Digital Engagement. The Brand Marketing team sits within the Marketing and Public Fundraising Directorate and their main aim is to build a high and positive public profile for the charity and hospital brands.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need great people skills and to be comfortable interviewing a range of people, from world-class researchers, to the parents of seriously ill children. You’ll also need experience creating and producing a magazine and have excellent time management skills.

About you:

You will have a flair for creativity with exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills complemented by excellent project management skills.

Specifically you will have:

- Experience producing a magazine, from conception to delivery.
- Experience creating impactful campaign messaging.
- Strong stakeholder management and exceptional influencing skills.
- Experience in training others to write great copy.
- Confident and sensitive interviewing skills.
- Experience working with a brand voice and embedding it across an organisation.
- Experience managing a busy and varied workload.

The ideal candidate will also have:

- Line management experience.
- Experience working for a charity or NHS Trust.

About the charity:

Every day brings new challenges for our client. Every day, over 600 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential. Without donations, they can’t help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Their staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.
