Careers Advisor (Learning Disability Charity) 

Our client is a charity that support people with learning disabilities. They want to demonstrate that people with learning disabilities can be leaders in society but they can’t do this without you! They are looking for a self-motivated and passionate person to support people with a learning disability to fulfil their employment needs. 

Position: Job Coach 
Location: Cambridgeshire 
Job type: Full Time, 1 year Fixed Term Contract 
Hours: 39 hours per week 
Salary: £22,439.71 per annum

About the role: 

The Job Coach will work as part of our client's supported employment team assisting people with learning disabilities to develop employability skills, qualifications and gain meaningful employment, along with providing support for employees and employers within the workplace. The aim of the role is to work with people to develop new skills to enable them to reach their full potential. 

The Job Coach will be passionate about tackling the obstacles people with learning disabilities face in finding and remaining in meaningful employment. The Job Coach position will need to be flexible including potential weekend work to support people to attend social / educational or employment events if this has been identified in the individual learner plan. 

They operate flexi time and flexible working; laptop and mobile are provided. 

About you: 

It would be highly desirable for you to have experience of working with people with a learning disability or recruitment with unemployed people. Aside from this you’ll need to be willing to work towards a level 3 in Understanding Assessment in Education and Training. 

You’ll be able to work alone and as part of a dynamic team working alongside a range of stakeholders. You’ll be proactive and flexible in your approach to support people to overcome different barriers. It is essential that you have exceptional communications skills, customer service and are extremely organised as well as a good level of IT Skills required including; Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

Driving is essential for this role as you will need to travel to remote locations.
