The Public Sector organisation is running a flagship programme designed to transform connectivity between the key economic centres of the North.

Description

The Stakeholder Manager will be based in Manchester with some travel to Leeds. The purpose of the role is to lead the development and delivery of Stakeholder Engagement, Media Relations and Communications Service and Strategy to support the Public Sector organisation's communications and engagement strategy.

Stakeholder Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Play an integral role in the direction of the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Team as part of the Communications Managers group, supporting the 'Head of' and wider team members.

  • Ensure communications and engagement activity for the programme is fully embedded into wider corporate strategy and activity

  • Foster and lead integration between the communication staff and the wider corporate team

  • Line manage staff and support their professional development

  • Lead the development and delivery of the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Strategy in support of the organisation's vision and objectives

  • Lead the development and delivery of effective communication and engagement strategies and campaigns

  • Ensure effective processes are in place to identify stakeholder engagement and communication issues and ensure appropriate action plans are in place

  • Work alongside senior leaders and officers to offer reputational advice and support where required, providing trusted counsel

  • Lead and ensure that effective processes are in place to protect and enhance reputation - ensuring activity reinforces positive perceptions of the organisation and programme.

  • Lead the delivery of media relations, stakeholder and internal communications support

  • Lead the development and management of brand, messaging and corporate identify

  • Set performance measures to monitor progress for all media relations, communication and stakeholder engagement activities

  • Lead effective communication to stakeholders (internal and external) including the development of appropriate strategies and plans

  • Lead consultation programmes to inform emerging strategies

  • Lead the development and delivery of communications and stakeholder engagement events

  • Act as a lead representative to maintain a knowledge base of key partners

  • Lead, develop and facilitate positive and meaningful, regular engagement with all stakeholders to drive improvements in the quality and consistency of communication and stakeholder engagement activities with a consistent focus on improved quality and performance

Profile

The successful Stakeholder Manager will have:

  • Extensive experience in managing effective communications activities including media relations, social media, internal communications, stakeholder engagement, conference and events and e-communications

  • Experience of establishing effective working relationships with stakeholders

  • Sound understanding of local Government political frameworks and how to operate within them

  • Excellent communicating and influencing skills, with the ability to negotiate, collaborate and influence

  • Significant experience providing the depth and breadth of knowledge needed to be impactful at senior levels

  • Experience of leading a team in a senior level role

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Experience of leading the implementation of change programmes within own business area

Job Offer

Salary £39,331 to £46,690
