This is a fantastic opportunity for a Global Programmes Director to work for a leading animal charity.

Our client is one of the UK’s largest international animal welfare charities, currently supporting projects in over 35 countries worldwide. They are working for a world where donkeys and mules live free from suffering and their contribution to humanity is fully valued. They are achieving this by transforming the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people worldwide through greater understanding, collaboration and support, and by promoting lasting, mutually life-enhancing relationships.

Position: Global Programmes Director

Location: Based in Sidmouth, Devon – “an area of outstanding natural beauty”

Salary: circa £70,000 - £75,000 per annum

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 08.30 – 16.30

Benefits: Generous annual leave, pension scheme, Healthshield plan, confidential counselling service, subsidised restaurant, free parking, enhanced maternity/paternity benefits, Life Assurance Scheme, 31 day’s holiday per year, inclusive of the 8 statutory public holidays. This increases by one day each year until a maximum of 34 days is reached.

The Role

This is a key role working alongside the Executive Director of Operations and Chief Executive, leading a team to identify themes and priorities to reach the donkeys most in need around the world. This will involve piloting new ways of working internationally, while developing strong collaborative partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders worldwide.

About You

As Global Programmes Director, you will be educated to degree level or possessing relevant equivalent experience, you will bring with you a catalogue of experience in leading international programmes through an extensive change management process. Ideally with a background in livelihoods and systems strengthening, you will be an innovative and inspiring senior leader who can demonstrate experience of managing international programmes and developing high performing teams, as well as leading cultural change.

Having a track record of strategic decision making, leadership and management and of delivering high-performance services in a relevant field, is essential for the Global Programmes Director role.
