Support Worker 

Our client is one of the largest national charities for the learning disabled supporting circa 3000 service users nationwide. Position: Support Worker 
Location: Various across Oxfordshire including Abingdon, Didcot, Banbury and surrounding villages 
Job type: Full & Part – time available 
Hours: Various 
Salary: Up to £9.58 per hour

About the role: 

As a Support Worker with our client you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. In these caring and creative roles, everything you do will enable people to have choices about their own lives, creating flexible services that meet their needs and always looking for the best way of doing things. 

The purpose of the role is to give the highest possible standards of support to individuals, with moderate to severe learning disabilities, in all aspects of their daily lives. Our client ensures that the people they support: 

-Build confidence to develop their interests 
-Feel secure in their surroundings 
-Increase their independence 
-Are enabled to make as many choices as possible 
-Achieve their personal goals 
-Reach their potential 

The Support Worker role reaches into all aspects of the daily lives of the people they support including travel, holidays, personal care, accessing the community and helping to achieve goals. 

About you: 

You don’t need experience of support work or any special qualifications for this job - you’ll get plenty of training along the way. Having the right values and wanting to make a difference to enable people to live a more fulfilling and independent life is just as important. You will need to have good listening and basic IT skills and a practical, caring approach. 

It’s great if you already have experience of learning disabilities, autism or dementia, but this is by no means essential. What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible. 

Although not essential, a full, current UK / EU driving licence is also desirable
