Our client is a London based charity aiming to prevent homelessness. They work closely with vulnerable and socially excluded people to help transform their lives. They are currently looking to recruit 2 x Support Workers for one of their hostels based in Lewisham. This assignment is expected to last 3 months.
As a Support Worker, you will provide vulnerable homeless adults, with a history of rough sleeping with an effective, high quality support service within a supported housing context. Providing tailored support to a caseload of clients, you will conducting key working sessions to ensure they are receiving the support they require to assist them in achieving a life away from the streets. With many presenting with multiple and complex needs, you will work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure a wrap-around service that is effective and enables services users to achieve their goals and aspirations.
To be successful, you must have experience of key working a caseload of homeless adults presenting with complex needs, conducting risk assessments, support plans and have a working knowledge of safeguarding. You must also have demonstrable experience of working with clients with substance misuse, mental health and/or homeless-related needs, or a combination of these client groups. Candidates must also have a good level of computer literacy and numeracy.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday, on a rota basis including early and late shifts
