As part of our transformation we have ambitious plans to reach more and do more. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Senior Operations and Development Manager who will play a pivotal role in supporting, shaping and establishing our services and support across England where people with arthritis can live well, irrespective of age or location.

About the role

The Senior Operations and Development Manager has a key leadership role to play in managing change, ensuring our staff and volunteers are effectively supported and resourced to achieve our organisational goals and deliver high quality services in England.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, including cross directorate teams, volunteers, people with arthritis, stakeholders and external partners, you will have a keen eye for innovative development opportunities and help shape new models of delivery and ways of working as well as identifying and maximizing funding opportunities.

Due to the nature of our services, work outside of office hours is necessary requiring a flexible approach to the working week. The role involves travel across England including weekends and overnight stays, as well as UK wide travel in support of cross organisational working and Transformation projects.

Key requirements

Our successful candidate will have experience of managing teams that cover multiple workstreams, be able to inspire and motivate others and will be passionate about making a difference for people with arthritis. The role requires strong multi-project management, organisational and budget monitoring skills, along with excellent communication skills. About us

Arthritis causes pain, fatigue and isolation for 17.8 million people in the UK every single day. It can impact on the ability to work, our relationships and take away our independence. We don’t accept this.

We are Versus Arthritis. We are volunteers, healthcare professionals, researchers and friends, all doing everything we can to push back against arthritis. We’re reaching out to everybody with the information and support they need, funding vital research and changing the way society sees arthritis. Together we’ll keep running, researching, influencing, volunteering, advising, chatting, baking, listening.  We won’t stop until no-one has to tolerate living with the pain, fatigue and isolation of arthritis.

Join us and use your skills, knowledge, passion and energy to help us defy arthritis.
