Onside Youth Zones seeks to appoint an outstanding individual as their new Head of Major Donor Development. The post-holder will have the opportunity to help transform the lives of young people living in some of our most deprived communities who are most at risk of being excluded, becoming disaffected and getting left behind in society.

OnSide Youth Zones is a pioneering charity with one simple aim – to build a network of state-of-the-art, 21st century youth facilities to give young people safe and inspiring places to spend time away from home and school.For decades many young people have been neglected and they need our help, now more than ever before. Whether it’s a lack of ambition or qualifications, negative behaviour and attitudes, gang or knife violence, young people need help to find a way out of their predicament. OnSide Youth Zones are designed to give young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to in their leisure time; occupying their bodies and minds with fun activities, learning new skills and socialising in a safe, positive way. 

Reporting into the Director of Fundraising, the Head of Major Donor Development is a critical role that will have responsibility for the management of the Bolton-based team of fundraisers, working with them to ensure that the target income required for each Youth Zone is achieved. The post-holder will also personally develop major donor relationships that will contribute to OnSide’s ambition to create 100 Youth Zones across the country over the next generation.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record through personally securing high value sales or major donors andwill be dynamic and results-driven in nature.  S/he will have strong and persuasive communication skills andthe presence, gravitas and intellect to operate effectively at all levels. S/he will be at ease working closely with senior stakeholders, including the Charity’s highly-engaged trustees and donors at the highest levels.
