NIAB is a leading and fast-growing UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, with a regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the business partnering team in Cambridge.

As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible as co-lead for the group business partnering effort. The business partnering team consists of two seniors, one finance business partner, and two assistants. This role includes coordinating and developing links between operational and financial teams, to maximise quality and value of management information.

Handling all aspects of project management, you will take care of budgeting for research proposals, and monitoring the progress of activities against the projected income, and reviewing project costs throughout the process. We will also look to you to assist project leaders through all aspects of project compliance with customers and funders, as relevant.

Working with Business Unit, the Senior Finance Business Partenr leads to maximise the use of resources in furtherance of the NIAB five-year strategy. This will involve taking a keen lead in the development and progression of part-qualified staff.

For this role you will need to be a fully qualified Accountant, with significant, relevant experience of team and project management. You should have in-depth knowledge of the costing of projects along with experience in financial management and reporting preferably (but not essentially) on grant funded projects.
