They are recruiting a Domestic Abuse Case Coordinator – Full Time 37.5 Hours per week to join their friendly team.

They are looking for an individual with self- resilience, great empathy and a demonstrable knowledge of domestic abuse and the impact that has on families.

At the front end of their services delivering intervention and support to individuals and their children who are currently affected by domestic abuse living in North Somerset.

In this role you will primarily be based in Weston Super Mare with the ability to travel around the local authority area and work remotely from safe locations, including refuge.

You will be responsible for processing the referrals for victims of domestic abuse prioritising your workload through identified risk reduction and, assisting clients directly with dealing with the impact of domestic abuse. They help clients to identify and manage risk using the SafeLives DASH risk assessment tool.  You will also work collaboratively with partner agencies including social services, Addaction drug and alcohol services, Children’s Services, Health and Police etc.

You will need to be calm, and responsive to peoples’ needs, empathic and informative whilst dealing with traumatising situations. Providing victims with information about what options are available to them to help them to make empowered decisions and supporting them to rebuild their lives.

The service operates Monday to Friday between 9 – 6 flexibility will be required to ensure they can respond to individuals needs in accessing support.

You will be competent with using MS Excel and Word you will be expected to record accurate data on the victims, and referrals into the service elements so that the shared documents and logs can be relied upon if required to support statutory or legal proceedings e.g. DA Courts, Child Protection etc.  and to provide performance reporting data to commissioners.

You will bring to the role considerable background knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse and how it impacts upon people’s lives supporting behaviour change and recognising healthy and unhealthy relationship traits and triggers. The ability to deliver training will be a development area in this role.
