Variety, the Children’s Charity provides direct help to children and young people up to their 19th birthday who are living with illness, disability or financial disadvantage. The charity steps in where statutory healthcare, support and funding ends, to ensure that children have the support they need to reach their potential and thrive, regardless of their health, mobility, abilities and economic background.
We may be celebrating our 70th anniversary this year but we still have ambitions for growth and hope you choose to help us get there. We have already commenced our journey:
Our new Chief Executive joined in August 2018.
Our new Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications joins at the end of April.
We have new and re-imagined roles to recruit to in addition to this one including a Digital Manager, Corporate Partnerships Manager, and a Trust and Foundations Fundraiser.
As Head of Marketing and Communications you will lead a small team in devising multichannel communications and supporter journey marketing campaigns that helps raise awareness of our work, builds our digital communities, and helps drive income generation through targeted engagement activity.
You will work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure that our marketing and communications’ needs are met and that we become known as a UK wide organisation which delivers innovative, engaging and effective campaigns and communications initiatives in support of our beneficiaries.
As a professional with experience of communications, marketing (including digital marketing), social media, supporter engagement, and media, your remit will include working closely with fundraising colleagues to develop, deliver and evaluate a schedule of donor acquisition and retention campaigns and to identity engagement opportunities across all marketing channels.
The ideal candidate will bring not only the gravitas and innovation to proactively lead a team to deliver exceptional results but also the creativity and ambition to see this charity’s brand increase across the UK.
This is a pivotal role which will have you working with staff and volunteers across the charity, to maximise our reach to both supporters and potential beneficiaries.
